Concerts, Finals Schedule, and Upcoming Change in Address...

OK! Wow, so I'm surviving this semester, but not by much! LOL! It's been extremely crazy since Spring Break, and I've been studying really hard. But don't worry, there's been a lot of fun mixed in there! So, starting after spring break...let's see!

The first thing I think I need to mention is that immediately when we got back, UUB Concerts started to intensely prep for the David Cook Concert. (If you don't know who that is, he won American Idol last year!) Anyways, we had to get everything set up for him. We only had a week, so it had to be done fast! But, we got all of the contracts and writers in order, and it all went relatively smoothly! Then the day of the concert arrives, and we had a little surprise. David wasn't supposed to get here until Noon, and he arrived at 9:30. That was FUN! Anyways, so the rest of the day was spent running around, making sure that WestTech (the sound guys) were getting set up properly, and making sure David had everything he needed. We also had to make sure that the room and David's bus were secure, so we all took turns standing around playing security guards. Like people are gonna listen to two scrawny girls, but anyways! I had 2 tests that day, and they both went relatively well. Unfortunately, that means that I had to leave for a little while, but it was cool, because it gave me a break!

Then the concert rolls around at 8:00 pm. And let me tell you, it was AMAZING! We all really enjoyed it, and we were super super close! Ryan Star was touring with David and he opened at 8. We all got to meet him, and he was a super nice guy. Then 9:00 comes, and David Cook comes out on stage! The concert was so amazing, and we all had a blast! David's really good live, and he's a super nice guy. We met him and his band after the show, and they were all awesome guys.

This is how close we were! It was amazing! I couldn't believe it! And David was so amazing live. And Ryan Star, the guy that opened, was amazing too! I've already downloaded some of his music. :D David played a lot of his best songs, as well as a couple of covers, which was cool, I thought. It was interesting to see him cover songs by a couple of his favorite bands!

^^ So this picture is David Cook.
And the picture to the right is Ryan Star. ---->

So yeah, after the concert, I was completely exhausted, but it was so worth it. My feet hurt for two whole days afterwards, and my calves hurt from walking up and down stairs all day, but it was fun!

Now that we're about a week past the concert, not a whole lot is going on. However, I did end up going home with Amanda this past weekend on a last minute road trip. She called on Saturday, and said, "You wanna go on a road trip to Ottawa with me?" and I said "Sure!" And we were in Ottawa a few hours later! It was so much fun, and it was nice to hang out with Amanda, because we don't get to do a lot by ourselves. It was a blast, we listened to some crazy music, had some funny conversation, and learned a new dance, the "Cupid Shuffle!" It was a lot of fun, and it was nice to be home for a couple of days.

Other than that, not a lot is going on. I have a couple of presentations due the next two weeks, one's a group project. I also have a few papers that are due in the next week or so. I have one due Thursday, one due Tuesday, and one due the week of finals (my individual presentation is over this paper, which is a 20 page research paper). My finals week is going to be pretty low key. I have two on Tuesday, May 12. That day is EIS 301 final at 3 pm, and my HIST 430 final at 6 pm, neither of which are comprehensive. I also have my 20 page research paper due that day, but we have no final exam in that class. Our paper is our final, and it's due by 1 pm on May 12. Then my only other final is my GEOG 100 exam on Thursday, May 14, at 8 am...which sucks! But hey, I can deal, because it's my last one, and then I'm OUTTA HERE! Yay!! Can't wait to be done with this semester, and have a couple of months off before next year.

I've gotten confirmation on my room assignment for next year, and I'll be in Washington Hall, room 620. I'm really excited, because Amanda, Kiah, Heather, and Sarah Newendyke (she's a member of UUB with us) will all be in the same area. Heather will be the only one that's possibly going to be in a different building, because she's an RA next year, and she won't know her assignment until August. But we know she'll be in Linc/Wash/Grote, which is where we all are, in Washington. So my address will be (for next year):

Sara Robbins
Washington Hall
710 W. Adams St. #620
Macomb, IL 61455

Well, that's all there really is to report, so I'll try to post again before finals! :D
